Wedding season in Nepal runs through winter, and good skin for the day takes a few weeks of steady care. A facial the day before does not do much. The plan below is simple. It starts four weeks early and avoids anything that can irritate your skin close to the event.
Weeks 4 and 3: Build the base
Start the routine you will keep until the wedding. Cleanse, tone, use a serum, moisturize and wear sunscreen every morning. Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water is a good first layer. It hydrates and brightens. Then use the Glow Deep Serum (rice and alpha-arbutin) for dullness and uneven tone.
This is also the time to find out what your skin does not like. If something stings or causes breakouts, stop it now, not the week of the wedding.
Week 2: Add plumpness
Add Beauty of Joseon Revive Serum (ginseng and snail mucin) at night. It adds water and makes the skin feel bouncy. Finish with a comfortable cream like the Dynasty Cream so the water stays in. Sleep matters more than any product here. Try to get 7 to 8 hours.
Week 1: Change nothing
Do not try new products, strong exfoliants, peels or a new facial in the last week. Skin can react badly and you will have no time to recover. Keep the same routine, drink water and keep wearing sunscreen. Sun damage and peeling skin are hard to cover with makeup.
The day before and the day of
Keep the evening routine simple and go to bed early. On the day, a hydrating routine first, then sunscreen, then makeup. Your makeup artist will thank you for skin that is soft and not flaky. If you wear makeup, remove it at night with a cleansing oil. Our guide to double cleansing explains how.
Common questions
Can I get a facial before the wedding?
Yes, but do it at least two weeks before, not in the last week. If you have never had a facial, do not try your first one right before the wedding. Choose a gentle one and tell them the date.
What if I get a pimple a few days before?
Do not pick it. Keep your normal routine and use a pimple patch at night. A makeup artist can cover a small pimple easily, but a picked one is much harder to hide.
Should I start retinal now?
Not if you are not already using it. Retinal can cause dryness and peeling in the first weeks, which you do not want close to the wedding. Save it for after the event.
Do sheet masks help?
A hydrating sheet mask once or twice a week can help skin feel soft, especially the night before. Stay with a mask you have used before.
Everything in one order
The Glow Before the Big Day set has the four products above and takes 5% off the total. For sunscreen, see our list of sunscreens with no white cast, which also work well under makeup.
