Korean skincare is very popular in Nepal now. But with so many brands and so many fakes around, it is hard to know what to buy. This guide lists the products people ask us about the most, and who each one is good for.
We sell all of these at Cerine, so check the product pages for the current price and stock. Prices change, so we do not list numbers here.
How we picked
We looked at what our customers buy again and again, and what suits the weather and skin problems in Nepal. That means oily skin in summer, dry skin in winter, dark spots, and strong sun.
Cleansers
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing Deep Cleansing Foam. A gentle foam that cleans the pores without making your face feel tight. Good for oily and combination skin.
If you wear sunscreen or makeup, wash with an oil or balm cleanser first. Then use a foam cleanser. This is called double cleansing, and it removes sunscreen better than one wash.
Toners
ANUA Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner. This is one of the most loved toners from Korea. Heartleaf is a plant that calms red and angry skin. It works for oily, sensitive and spot-prone skin. You can put it on with your hands or a cotton pad.
Serums
ANUA Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Serum. For dark spots and uneven tone. Niacinamide and tranexamic acid work slowly. Give it at least 4 to 8 weeks. Use sunscreen every day, or the spots will come back.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule. A lighter option for dull skin. A good choice if stronger serums irritate you.
TIRTIR Azelaic Acid 12% Serum. For breakouts and red marks. Start every second day and see how your skin feels.
Moisturisers
Purito SEOUL Wonder Releaf Centella Cream. A calming cream for sensitive or dry skin. It is not very heavy, so many people use it in summer too.
Purito SEOUL Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream. Good for skin that feels dry or tight after washing, especially in the cold months.
Sunscreens
Sunscreen is the most important product in any routine. The sun in Nepal is strong, and even stronger in the hills and in Kathmandu because of the height.
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF 50+. Light, not greasy, and it does not leave a white cast on most skin tones. Our most asked-about sunscreen.
Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF 50+. Very light and watery. Good if you hate the feel of sunscreen.
Purito SEOUL Soft Touch Sun SPF50. A softer, creamy feel that sits well under makeup.
Put on about two finger lengths for your face and neck. Reapply every two to three hours if you are outside.
What to buy first if you are a beginner
- A gentle cleanser
- A light moisturiser
- A sunscreen
Use just these for a month. Then add a toner or a serum, one at a time. If you want a plan made for your skin, try our skin quiz. For a longer routine, read our 10 step Korean skincare routine guide.
How to avoid fakes
Fake Korean products are common in Nepal, mostly on social media pages and in some markets. Look at the batch code, the print quality, and the price. If it is much cheaper than everywhere else, do not trust it. You can check any Cerine product on our verify page.
Where to buy
You can see everything on our Korean skincare in Nepal page. We deliver across Nepal, and you can pay with eSewa, Khalti, ConnectIPS or cash on delivery.
